Dalton announced yesterday that the MaRS project will get $16 Million - so tower two will be built soon.

This will have a more an impact on toronto's future then any single condo tower!

I'm glad to see that we have a government that's investing in the future of the big stink!

what is this? ive never heard of it.
more info please!
is this not just the West Tower portion of the MaRS site?
That is amazing! I think TO should really concentrate on becoming an even greater
centre for international research. As a matter of fact I was strolling by there last
night and wondering how things were going on the project:

Yes it is, there is a big empty space at the south-east corner of College and University.

Basically, its a laboratory/forum for the advancement of science and business.
I understood from earlier articles that there was to be a hotel included in the project, possibly in its own building?

I walked past today and it stated that construction was to begin on Phase 2 soon-but the construction trailers are still there, so I assume they mean immediately...

^^ That is a bit of a strange location for a hotel. I can think of many better
places to put one.
The hotel is for people working in the building so they don't have to leave to go somewhere else. I don't think you can book a room unless you are actually doing work in the building.
That would make sense. .
Pretty sure it was proposed as a commercial hotel hoping to capitalize on family and friends of the endless supply of long-term patients next door
so, does anyone know when the construction is starting?
I drove by the site yesterday, hard to say if it's started or not.
How do I get a job there?

I had an interview with a startup Proteomics company their last year.

Basicly you need at least a Master's and to know someone. Bachelors are becoming worthless because everyone has them.
Construction doesn't seem to have started as of yet- no equipment or heavy machinery is on the premises, which would imply construction has begun...That will probably come soon.

Speaking about the hotel- I read in an austrian paper, that beside one of europes largest hospitals-the Vienna General Hospital, that the city and the hospital were planning a hotel and private clinic to cater to families of the sick- that could be what they are after...but it could also just be for the members or users of Mars!

Got it. Do you need to have a health sciences background to crack into the biotech industry in a supporting role (project management, business planning, etc.)?

Biotech is the next wave and I'm looking for a way to ride it!

Since you can't get a post-grad degree without an undergrad degree, I'm pretty sure "worthless" is the wrong word here.
