Great pics! Also in the Metro education section of the Age today there is a brief that mentions Melb Uni's medical school is ranked the best in Oz, beating ANU and Sydney.

I still prefer the brutalism of Monash Clayton though...
The **** at Clayton doesn't deserve to be mentioned in the same sentence as Melbourne Uni IMHO... but each to his own I suppose :p

South Lawn looking towards the Old Arts (tower in the centre) and Old Law (arches on the bottom right). for those not familiar with melbourne uni South is a big hangout for many students, especially when its a nice sunny day. often times there is no room at all to sit down!

wont be 'slightly' off campus if the über-university precinct kicks off over the next ten years (joint UniMelb-RMIT on CUB site and surrounds - actually, Monash is cashed up, they should buy CUB off RMIT and develop a true city campus for themselves). :)

Oblique aerial view taken from the south-east, showing corner of Swanston and Grattan Streets, Teachers College, Engineering, Wilson Hall, Old Arts and other buildings, and some of the colleges in the background. Vice-Chancellor's house seems to be under construction?

A whale skeleton graced the outside of the Melbourne Museum, where the Union Building now stands.

Exterior of the new Wilson Hall from the south east, with work in progress on the garden wall and inside the hall, c.1956? Shows 'the copper sheeted organ loft and the sweep of Belgian glass facing east. Rosettes set in the south wall are from the old hall.'
