MAS-BE to lease planes for KL-China charter flights

May 7 2007

MAS-BE Airlines Sdn Bhd, an aviation arm of the Malaysian-Beijing group of companies, plans to invest about US$6 million to lease two aircraft for direct charter flights between Kuala Lumpur and China.
Its president, Tan Sri Dr Abdul Aziz Abdul Rahman, said today the travel and tourism company aims to be a global player in the charter flight business.

“We currently have alliances with several flight operators from China into Malaysia,” he said at a press conference after the unveiling of the company’s new signage and its signing of a technology agreement with MB Online Sdn Bhd and Afoofa Solutions Sdn Bhd.

The event was witnessed by Transport Minister Datuk Chan Kong Choy.

The company also intends to expand direct charter flight services to Europe, Australia and Japan, Abdul Aziz said.

“We expect to enter the European countries by this year,” he said.

“At the moment, we are in the process of getting an air operating certificate from the Transport Ministry,” he added.

The company was issued with an air service permit for unscheduled flights by the Civil Aviation Department on May 31 last year.

MAS-BE Airlines executive director Datuk Ng Kek Kiong said the company also plans to provide 15 direct routes to major cities in China like Chengdu, Kunming, Xian, Guiyang, Nanning, Zhengzhou, Xiamen, Fuzhou, Qingdao, Changsha, Shanghai, Beijing, Urumqi, Jinan and Shantou.

He said the services to Chengdu, Xian, Zhengzhou, Changsha, Shantou and Guiyang would start in August this year.
The company’s current direct flights cover Haikou, Chongqing and Guiling.

Ng said once all the direct routes are fully operational, the company expects to bring in at least 150,000 tourists from China by year-end.

He said about 110,000 tourists from China visited Malaysia last year.

Meanwhile, under the technology agreement, MB Online and Afoofa are providing MAS-BE Airlines with a travel portal, www.mas-beairlines.com, which offers Internet booking convenience. — Bernama

it's not easy to cari kerja being a private student at flying academy. companies like mas and air asia has their own pilot program so they dont bother my resume unless i told them "you can give me 15-year contract so that u dont have to worry about me fleeing the company after i got my full ATPL"

I'm holding frozen ATPL now which qualifies me to be first officer on multi engine and multi crew airlines.

it's only 3 months. i have friend who makan anggur for about 1 year. now happily employed at firefly based in penang. so jealous maa..anyway he enrolled first into the school before me.

i'll call mas be.

it's a charter airlines liow. dont offer sched service. unless u have lotsa money u can charter the whole plane for urself

walauwei...u tak balik kampung tianjin?

by the way..i need to look out for more details on this MAS-Be
i asked my mum to called mas be yesterday asking them about pilot vacancy sadly they said none at the moment. currently they're leasing [email protected] usually when a company choose to lease an aircraft, to save cost the aircraft comes complete with its own pilot and co pilot. i dont know about cabin crew. maybe they are in the same package. as for now im waiting a call from firefly. i send them resume.

i dont really care about what type of equipment i'll be flying on as long as i can fly. hehe.

mas be gonna increase their flights to china this year to bring in more chinese tourist. but i wonder im a frequent to this website airliners.net i havent came across any pics of mas be airlines at all airports in malaysia

are they just a ghost airline, i mean they just codeshare with other partner? or anybody have pics of mas be aircraft??

if they're really in chartered business, they must have their own plane.

they are going to lease the plane, means it will be there, but not there yet.....
then can u explain how about flights before this? it's not a newly set up company, it's already in the business since 2004. i read some articles before they operate about 20-30 flights weekly. with increased capacity they want to operate more than 80 weekly. question is where's the airplane?
