The Road to Hana

Eastern Maui is the place that gets all the rain and thus it features a tropical forest. the road to there is narrow and twisting... all in all a true adventure...

View of Kahului in the distance:

Some of the beaches on my way to the East of the island:

The road to Hana... suddenly everything turns very green:

It soon becomes a tropical forest:

The twisting road to Hana... notice the jeeps on the road. Some tourists I guess fancy going to an amazon excursion:

The bridges are only one lane wide:

At every turn the views can be very rewarding:

The road gets really narrow:

From Rainforest to Dry desert...

The south side of Maui is a desert... the road is so bad that most tourists do not venture to this part of the island... but all in all I found it quite interesting and dramatic:

That is all the road to go by:

Not a soul into view:

Barren land and the backside of the Haleakala volcano at 10,00 feet ht.
(3,000 m):

Just me, the lousy road and the majestic volcano:

The road continues...should I turn the curve or just drive straight off the cliff?
