Was driving home last night 3/4/05 and there was 10 or so firetrucks in Elizabeth Street and the big glass cone at Melbourne Central was full of smoke (you could see it swirling around in there) yet nothing on the news?

Anyone heard what happened to cause a fire?

i've loss track the number of times MC have had fire. This is getting silly.

I know there were alotta fire trucks in the area (was paranoid my BBQ had set off my building's fire system) but was unaware of an actual fire within MC. Although it has become something of a monthly event.

Wasn't Melbourne Central it was yahma motors in Elizabeth street the first floor was guttered. It WASN't Melbourne Central.

Yeah I know the MX said yesterday that it was the motorcycle place, but all the fire units and trucks had hoses going into MC and there was smoke in the canopy outside above the 7 Eleven Store AND you could see it inside the shot tower cone. MAYBE, the hoses were to get pressure off the MC hydrants and MAYBE the smoke drifted across the road and got sucked into the air-con/ducting of MC????
