Miami Movie Trivia

20904 Views 80 Replies 8 Participants Last post by  BaybyBoomer
I started this on the Club 50 thread, but I felt maybe a separate thread would eventually be needed, since I was planning on having multiple questions on this. I will handle movie trivia, and TheEmbarcadero will handle sports, as per our agreement. Here's the first movie question, transferred from the club50 thread...

Which movie, filmed on location in Miami, contained a co-star who was in another movie with another famous actor that said, "If you're going to use flesh colored paint, you'd damn sure better paint a portrait"?

Hint: This Miami based film featured bad cooking, recipes, and theft.

Hints will be given periodically on future questions, the previous question had one of three hints answered, (The Embarcadero has 10 points already for answering one of the hints). Hints answered will be worth 10 points and the answer to the trivia question itself will be worth 25 points.

If you are going to stick with Miami movie trivia, I would suggest the Miami on the Big Screen thread.

NEW MOVIE TRIVIA FOR 2015 AND BEYOND....

No points, just whoever answers correctly gets to ask next question... fair enough? (easier to keep track of at least)...

Question 1 for 2015.... a quote from a famous movie, produced in the 1980's where "Miami Florida" was mentioned in the movie itself, twice, not by any of the stars of the movie, but the movie entirely took place somewhere else.... Hint: the movie took place in the 1930's....

1 other hint will be given if no one gets it right away....

Wild guess just based on being a 1980's movie that took place in the 1930s: The Untouchables?

Should be a pretty easy one: This cheesy 80's sci-fi movie was set in South Florida and featured a future Sex in the City star (a friend of mine growing up was an extra in this movie).

I was waiting for your response... right after I posted that yesterday I thought about her more than Cattrall and realized she was in Flight of The Navigator.

This movie was filmed almost entirely in Miami.... it's one of the few Miami based movies to star more than 2 academy award winners in the same film....

Your hint is a screen shot of one of the actors in the movie....

Tough one... gonna assume the movie came out in the latter half of the 70's or early 80's based on your current age, which if memory serves is 50 something?

Having said that, was Kurt Russel in the movie? If not, how about a hint?

^^Okay Hint, It was in the Mid to late 70's being filmed there on Watson Island , the Good Year Blimp Base back then with the Good Year Blimp landing and taking off from there, But I believe Kurt Russell was in another Movie back then also filmed in Miami with Beautiful Actress Daughter of the Famous Key West House and founder Ernest Hemingway , His Beautiful Daughter Mariel Hemingway, I'll Bet Spellbound knows what Movie I'm talking about, and YES Spellbound , you can answer that Movie, It was My Best of Here, She was a Young Fox then and a School Teacher in Brickell there at the still There Elementary School off Coral Way and SW 1st Ave in West Brickell , filmed there too, and At the Miami Herald Building back then ?? Remember the Movie Trivia Here anyone ??

The second movie question is The Mean Season. Not a terrible movie, but a distant second to Absence of Malice in the "Miami Herald reporter-based" category, imo.
