This list of completed, u/c, or proposed buildings from the CTBUH shows Miami to have nearly 50 buildings over 500 feet tall, and this isn't even everything that's proposed or under construction. Where do you think this current boom will end, 60 buildings over 500 feet tall?

http://www.skyscrapercenter.com/cre...ist_company=&completionsthrough=on&list_year=

The list is missing the entire Miami World Center megaproject as well as our other supertall One Bayfront Plaza. There are also four 60-story buildings planned, one 65-story building planned, and a 70-story building planned that I know of. All Aboard Florida has an 80-story building planned and we an 80-story building planned for the Riverfront property. There is also One Brickell, the Epic 2 property and the old Empire World lot that have recently been bought, and it looks like Tibor and sons are going to develop Villa Magna finally before One Bayfront Plaza. We still don't know what the Genting Group is going to do with the Herald property.

One Brickell (80, 70, 55 stories) proposed, but not listed.

Here is where the 70-story building is proposed, but not listed.

Here is the 65-story building proposed, but not listed.

These are part of the four 60-story building complex that are proposed, but not listed anywhere.

Brickell Bayview Center (48-stories, 504 feet) approved, but not listed, with construction scheduled to start next month.

Then, we have another 600-footer planned for west Brickell, one planned just northwest of Miami World Center, then there is whatever the Chelsea is going to become. We have a ton of stuff planned with the market showing no signs of letting up. The Hollos will probably start Villa Magna before OBP. What have I missed?

The proposed list has gotten a bit more impressive, but I still have not been able to convince them that SLS Lux Brickell is not under construction, but SLS Brickell is, which isn't on the list and that SLS Lux Brickell is a proposed project. I am not able to convince them that One Paraiso is the same height as Paraiso Bay and that Paraiso Bay is indeed under construction in spite of my having sent a photo of the ground-breaking. Getting the list up dated is like pulling teeth. I guess they want to corroborate whatever information I give them with other sources for verification.

Dont know if this makes any difference but the SLS Lux is about 1/3 in to contract after 10 days.

SLS Lux should sell very well. Just waiting any day now for Echo or 1010 to begin:banana::banana:
The CTBUH finally updated their Miami list, and it looks pretty impressive. So far, we have 50 buildings over 500 feet tall either completed, proposed, or under construction. Let's see how much of this and more we can get built before the music stops.

From an article I saw in the Herald today (formatted better on the website). If they included the Dadeland area it would be in the top 10 in total units, but I guess this list is only showing condo towers and the Dadeland buildings are all rentals. Also since this is only condos, it leaves out a lot of the West Brickell and Edgewater rental activity:

Boom part 2 is truly shaping up to be bigger than boom part 1. We have a new tallest under construction with buildings over 500 feet tall breaking ground as far north as NE 32nd Street. A supertall is almost assured with Swire behind it and several projects over 500 feet tall are already under construction with more scheduled to start soon. :)

Just came back from the philipines and looked like they have both more density of existing high rises and cranes? Impressive really, it's like they have mini brickells every 2 miles all over makati. And their malls, wow. Gotta say I was a bit jealous. Poverty is huge just outside makati but that doesn't stop all the high rises and restaurants and malls from going up. Also noticed a design in condo balconies that I like. It's like they have a sunroom instead of balconies. So imagine ur balcony was the size of a room like they have in ivy on the river but it's all glass encased. Then you can open you glass door sized windows (and close the sliding door behind you) to make it a balcony type room. What this dies is make the buildings look nicer from distance. Anyway, wish it was easier to post pics to show u guys.

Manila could very well crack the top 10 in the world. Miami will be lucky to get back into the top 20, which is where we were after the end of the last decade, as high as 18 at one point.

Miami was ranked 18th in the world based on what was completed at the end of the last decade. There is no telling where we are going to end up at the end of this decade the way the Asian cities are building.

It's been a while since a new project was announced. We've gotten so used to one being announced every week, things are actually kind of boring.:cheers:

I know that feeling. However, there was an announcement today for a third Acqualina building, called Palazzo Di Acqualina, that will be 51 floors with 190 units. It is planned to be built on the property just north of the two existing buildings.

Really? I spoke too soon. With all that's broken ground so far and with what is scheduled to break ground soon, I'd be happy with just One Brickell Citycenter and Miami World Center. We desperately need those blocks behind the Biscayne Wall developed.

So around 4 units per floor, and that's a pretty big piece of land. I wonder if they will build on one side of the lot leaving room for a 4th Acqualina tower in the future?
