Midwest Under Construction

I guess the mods can merge this with another thread if it already exists but I searched and didn't see anything.

I think that it would be cool to have a specific photo thread that shows all of the projects going up in the Midwest all in one place. I'm not looking for only renderings, so if you do post renderings, please post the current progress of the project along with it.

Since most high-rises tend to get their own threads in the development sub-section - and since we get even more specific with a skyscraper development thread on this sub-forum - perhaps this should just be for low-and-mid-rise developments? Otherwise, this will get fairly crowded fairly quickly. It still might with the low-rise stuff, but at least we'll have more digestable pieces. Just an idea so as not to replicate too much of what's already being posted on in the various other development threads.

Yea, I understand where you're coming from. I was just looking to make a thread that I can come and check every once in a while and see all of the projects that are happening. Maybe if this thread does become a thing and people start posting we can split it off into two separate threads.
There is already a thread for Midwest 300+ footers stickied at the top of this section. I'm not sure we really need a single thread to show every project in every city in the Midwest, in part because it's going to be redundant of the stuff in the 300-foot thread.

Also, how many people are going to bother posting things both in their city threads *and* in this one? I suspect this thread will quickly get neglected.
i get it, that thread is to discuss the what's happening and it's filled with renderings, some of those projects will happen and some won't. This thread was meant to be a photo thread of what's currently being built.

If it's ignored... well, i tried.
I'm a bit baffled with some of the responses here. So long as the general posting guidelines are followed, it's not our job as moderators to exercise editorial control over what is allowed/not allowed to be posted.

I think this could be a fun thread to share recently completed projects from your city that you personally find interesting for one reason or another.

Here is a seven-story office building that recently went up in Minneapolis. It is currently the largest office building to be built entirely with timber in the US :

What kind of fire prevention plan is in place for a midrise made of timber?
OK but let's keep it to projects less than 300 feet so as not to duplicate stuff in the other thread.

chicago has WAY too much low and midrise construction going on to start listing individual projects, but it's fun to appreciate it in aggregate.

here's a recent shot showing the booming west loop neighborhood with a small forest of tower cranes hovering above:

Same with Minneapolis; impossible to list all of the innumerable projects here in any kind of a succinct way. The North Loop and Northeast developments alone would fill this entire thread up.
Well fill her up with Chicago and Minneapolis then. Other threads go on for hundreds of pages. I just want to see what other cities have going on and admire.

Why not just go to the local development subforums and check out developments there? I know I'm certainly not going to take the time to list and post photos of several dozens of projects. ;)
Just a nice shot by forumer ploppalopp of the new MLS stadium (Allianz Field) being built in the Midway in St. Paul, plus some drone footage:

Oooh, that's a gorgeous parking lot. Can't wait for the Midway to have a fresh new coat of asphalt once this stadium is done.
