Интересные фоты. Особенно занятна реконструкция площади Белорусского вокзала. Вот тут на сайте газеты.ру еще схемка есть по этому поводу:

Обратите внимание, какая там огромная подземная стоянка.

А вот это что такое, не подскажете?

Это проект застройки Ходынского поля , половину уже построили , кстати ледовый дворец на 14 000 мест (который на картинке такой круглый в левой части поля ) вовсю строят , построили почти полностью , осталась крыша и остекление , сдать собираються осенью.

А то что синенькое , это вроде будет музей космонавтики и торговые ряды , но могу ошибаться. ( строить не начинали )

А мне не нравится забетонированность площади и выпирающая круглая крыша парковки...Зелени будет слишком мало...

Moscow government prefers to build new traffic lanes by widening existing streets ( by eliminating sidewalks, tram lines, etc on city lands) instead of building new roads on reserved lands ( with some property on it ), even if overall cost ( including compensation to demolished property owners ) will be higher. Reason is simple - construction cost will go to construction company account, it is good. Compensation for demolished property will be literally wasted, because it goes directly to property owner.
Second note - there is not a single traffic light on entire square ( althougt there is a pedestrian crossing in the foreground ). Some wise guys in city government think that absense of traffic lights will eliminate traffic jams by the very fact of it absence.

Я бы сказал, что построили значительно больше половины

Now there are 2 or 3 traffic lights on this square. The jams are terrible. Even when the green light is 'on' the cars don't move because the intersection is blocked by other cars that very very slowly move in another direction...The drivers usually get impationed and try to move in any direction possible, so the whole traffic is blocked for h o u r s....

If the only way to struggle with challenged drivers is not to struggle with them at all, but let them jam on their own way, leaving them no possibility to lock traffic - there is something wrong... At least they could try to adjust traffic lights mode to prevent such locks. By the way, the only place where proposed construction scheme is different to what there is now - is twice widened traffic span under overpass.

the overpass is the Leningrad avenue. The proposed traffic is not only 2 times wider but it will be in 2 directions. Now the traffic goes only up (under the overpass). The movement down will let the traffic go from up left corner of the pic to Leningrad avenue (in right direction). This is the main jam now.
Besides, this is not only difference with the current scheme... Look at the tunnel in the upper left corner of the pic and another tunnel in the lower right corner...It is a big parking.

Такав забетониран трг губи атрактивност, народ има да бежи туда као вампир од крста

Seriously there must be other ways of solving these kind of problems. I think the worst solution is to just built bigger streets with an growing amount of cars; you can't escape this way the wishes circle. London center had similar problems and what did they do? They introduced a toll system to force people to use alternative transportation systems.
