In fact, the issue is that at present there is no train service between Ukraine and Romania via Vadul Siret border crossing.

The Istanbul - Sofia night train is running again from Halkali. From the summer season on, București and Beograd will have direct connections too.

Last night we took the Astra TransCarpatic night train in Romania. Well equipped sleeping, couchette and first class seating wagons for a bargain price.
Our 1st class luxe compartment had a toilet and private shower, and a door connects it to the other compartment. A bottle of water, sandwich and coffee for breakfast are included. Very reasonable priced with online booking. PDF is send by email and accepted. The train can drive 200 km/h and is ready for international journeys. During the summer the Arad - Bucharest journey is extended until Constanta at the Black Sea.

The old ÖBB night wagons might be sold to railway companies in South East Europe, as their stock is obsolete.
