This road is apparently under design. It will cut through Kibera (intersecting with the Southern Bypass), and join Ngong Road as an extension of Ring Road Kilimani.

Does anyone have any further details? Is it going to be dual carriage? Will there be an interchange at Ngong Road, or will this become another jam-infested black spot like the junction of Ring Road Kilimani / Argwings Kodhek Road?

This road will be very important and will finally clear up and break down the cluster of slums and because roads bring in change an accessibility the people of Kibera will be the biggest benefactors.

Government should start an education campaign so the residents are not brainwashed to stall and fight the project.

Finally... So are the designs for a dual carriage way?

But will we see an endless court cases?? God forbid and the residents see this road as a sign things are changing.

The design appears to be a dual carriageway judging from the tender notices
Wondering how come they didn't construct the NHC overpass for this road at the southern by pass with a provision for future expansion into a dual carriage road. No exits or on ramps connecting the overpass to the bypass either.

Conflicting information. 2x2 at some sections on one hand and 2 lane 2 way on the other

I believe both mean the same thing.
2 lane 2 way means that there are 2 lanes going in opposite directions i.e single carriageway like Limuru Road. 4 lane 2 way means that there are 2 lanes in one direction and two in the opposite direction like Valley Road. 6 lane 2 way means 3 in one direction and so forth.

2 lane 1 way means a single road headed in the same direction with 2 lanes like one carriageway of Langata Road. 3 lane 1 way like one carriageway of Mombasa Road etc.

There is also the special case of 3 lane 2 way which is not common in Kenya where 2 lanes go in one direction at certain times and one in the opposite direction and it is opposite that at other times. A probable example is Ngong Road between KNH and Hospital Road where in the morning 2 lanes are there towards town and one lanes towards KNH and the reverse is true in the evening where 2 lanes exist out of town and one lane towards town.

I think in KURA and KeNHA's context 2 lane 2 way means dual carriage... 2X2... Refer to HERE
