I guess the Kenyan mall culture started in the 80's while most SSA countries saw their first malls in the late 90's.I wonder why the retail sector in Kenya is so much more developed than the rest of us.
More original work please, sir. :bowtie:Mall of Africa Christmas decorations
The company already has a huge portfolio in Egypt as well. They own all Citycentre malls, Cairo Festival City, IKEA, Carrefour and now this mall. Egypt is home to 10 Carrefour hypermarkets and 20 supermarkets operated by Majid Al Futtaim, the second highest number of branches in the Middle East and Africa (after the U.A.E.) where they have exclusive franchise rights.^^ Seems like Majid Al Futtaim is really going big in Africa. Two Rivers (post 1648) is owned by Kenyan Businessman Chris Kirubi but Majid Al Futtaim is one of the biggest tenants, at Two Rivers he's opened Magic Planet, Vox Theaters (10 screens..VOX Max, VOX Gold, VOX 3D and VOX 4DX) , Carrefour and several other brands that he runs in his Dubai malls.
6th of October is a city in the Giza governorate, part of Greater Cairo. It's not in the city of Cairo though, just like Cairo Festival City is in New Cairo and not Cairo. Mall of Arabia is also in 6th of October. It can be a bit confusing but Greater Cairo consists of a blob of cities comprised of Giza, Cairo, Helwan, Shubra El Kheima, four separate cities, and on the outskirts of that blob you have cities like 6th of October, New Cairo, Obour, Badr etc. that are sort of like suburbs. 6th of October is on the western side of the Nile, on the outskirts of Giza, whereas New Cairo is on the eastern side on the outskirts of Cairo.^^ in which city is the mall? And i don't understand that 6th of october part
And it's open. People are complaining that most of the stores haven't committed to the opening date though, which is disappointing. Would have been better if they postponed it until everything is ready.Mall of Egypt is Finally Opening on March 2nd and It Has the Country's First Ever Indoor Snow Park - LINK
