A design proposal for a new hotel located on the north cost of Mombasa. The design proposes a twelve storey tower that fully capitalizes on the sea view offered by the site.
The guest is greeted by a grand seven storey atrium on arrival. From the arrival, the ground floor lobby and dining immediately opens up to and spills out to the landscaped terrace offering an infinity pool that visually connects to the ocean beyond. Alternatively, a grand stair guides the guest through the lower part of the atria to the conference facilities at mezzanine level. The atrium is further appreciated from the open gallery to its full height. From the gallery guest access the 66 hotel rooms that offer direct views from private balconies over the horizon.
The upper levels of the tower is dedicated to twelve one bedroom, eight two bedroom and six three bedroom serviced apartments, with the two four bedroom penthouse apartments expanding to the private roof top terraces above. In contrast to the lower levels, the apartments at the upper levels curve against the back of the site embracing the sea view from all rooms of all apartments. As a result of the shift in vertical alignment from the hotel rooms to the apartment, allows the spa and fitness facilities located on the level separating the two to benefit from a grand sea front terrace at mid height of the tower. The terrace hosts shaded bar and lounge facilities as well as an open sun deck with Jacuzzi and an infinity pool hanging over its far edge.
