“Sorry for the trouble getting here with all this construction,” joked Daniel Peritz, senior vice-president of Canderel, as the developer and partners Thursday launched Phase 2 of the Tour des Canadiens.

The tower is part of the expansive 15-year, $2-billion Quad Windsor construction project underway around the Bell Centre.

In keeping with the hockey franchise partnership, the 37-storey sculpted glass tower with 438 condo units will take its inspiration from ice, with illuminated “icicle tips” glowing in the night skyline.

The tower, to be located on the south side of the Bell Centre, on what is now a grim St-Antoine St., will be connected to the Bell Centre and the transit hub that is Windsor Station by a raised glass pedestrian walkway.

And just as for Phase 1, residents will enjoy priority bookings for Canadiens tickets and access to training sessions, among other privileges.

The consortium developing the project — Cadillac Fairview, Canderel, the Fonds immobilier de solidarité FTQ and the Club de hockey Canadien — is also hoping for a repeat of the success of Phase 1. Launched in 2012, the project sold out in three months, a record in Montreal, Peritz said, calling the structure “the most iconic residential address in our fair city.”

Tour 1 will be delivered in early spring, Peritz said.

This is just part of the massive $2 bln Quad Windsor development in Centre-Ville. Demolition is underway.

Developers Add 12 Floors to Tour des Canadiens 2

Sales have been a resounding success since the launch of Tour des Canadiens 2 in September 2015, so much so that developers Canderel, Cadillac Fairview, Fonds immobilier de solidarité FTQ and Club de hockey Canadien have announced the addition of 12 more floors to the Montreal condo. The sequel to the nearly complete first Tour des Canadiens tower, the second building will now include 575 units housed within 49 storeys.

Tour des Canadiens Phase 1 Completed, Phase 2 to Begin

When we last checked in with the grey-scale Tour des Canadiens 1 in Montreal, it had topped off and most of the exterior construction on the sports-themed condominium development was completed. The building's 552 condo units have been sold and the interiors are now completed. In fact, the first tenants have begun to move into the skyscraper, and many of the units are now appearing on Montreal's rental market.

This area used to look run down and wild from the Centre Bell , hopefully they will clean up the place and make it an exact park around the new building like in the render too
