A young couple owns this restaurant in Arequipa. Not only can one
taste the food of Morocco but also experience a bit of the culture. The
house has been styled to give a Moroccan atmosphere.

Here we can see the pipes that the couple has put in exhibition to the customers.
One of them was given to them as a wedding gift.
One can experience smoking different types of tobacco
with these water pipes which were sterilized.

Mixing cultures

The decoration of the place was done by Sherezade Gamero y Lizárraga who is also the co-owner.
The house is 200 years old and is a house protected by the
Institute of Culture of Peru. The vault-like
roof with the red canvas lamps makes a shape of the arcs found in
North Africa.

There are other details to complement. Some Fatima hands which
serves as protection against evil energies. They were made in porcelain
and this is the same material used for the arabic
phrases on the tables.

Peru fully supports Morocco's territorial integrity

10/2/2003

A Peruvian MP, Luis Gonsalez Bosada, reaffirmed his country's unconditional support to Morocco's territorial integrity and its sovereignty over its southern provinces.

In an interview published Wednesday by "Al Ittihad Al Ichtiraki" daily, Bosada, who chairs the Morocco-Peru parliamentary friendship group, said several Latin American countries are not fully aware of the Sahara issue, because of poor communication between Morocco and South American countries.

"We have noticed that after Morocco got closer to Latin American countries, most of them understood and supported Morocco's position, he said, adding that the countries of the region will soon take a clear stand on the Polisario Separatists"

The Peruvian MP made the statement during a meeting in Rabat on Tuesday between a visiting delegation of Morocco-Peru parliamentary friendship, and speaker of the Moroccan House of Representatives (parliament lower chamber), Abdelouahed Radi.

Talks also covered means to enhance bilateral parliamentary ties.

Peru wants strategic partnership with Morocco

Peru said it wants to promote a strategic partnership with Morocco in such a way to make the two countries serve as gateways for each other in their respective regions.

In order to achieve this objective, the two countries convened to devise instruments to deepen political dialogue and cooperation, Peruvian External Relations Minister, Allan Wagner Tizon, told MAP news agency.
