The mosque located in the basement of UOB Plaza can now comfortably house 800 congregants at any one time.
SINGAPORE: The refurbished Moulana Mohamed Ali Mosque reopened on Friday (Apr 10) in the heart of the Central Business District.
The re-opening ceremony was officiated by Minister-in-charge of Muslim Affairs Yaacob Ibrahim, who was joined by Mr Abdul Razak Maricar, chief executive of the Islamic Religious Council of Singapore (MUIS), as well as the Mufti of Singapore Mohamed Fatris Bakaram.
The Moulana Mohamed Ali Mosque was temporarily closed in October last year so it could undergo Addition and Alteration works, such as improvements to its existing and ancillary facilities, to accommodate its expanding group of congregants.
The mosque located in the basement of UOB Plaza in Raffles Place can now comfortably house 800 congregants at any one time.
