What in your opinion are the most Manhattan / NYC style buildings in Sydney? I'm not talking about contemporary modernist architecture but rather old heritage buildings, they can be ones that have been demolished also.

No, you clearly don't know much, because a) you have a superiority complex and b) you think NYC isn't the grand architectural paradise it is. There is an incredible building on every block. You need to deal with that.

What irritates me most about you is that you go so light on all things Australian, even when you can clearly fault many developments. Please stop. At least New Zealander's don't boast about things that are so dreadfully sub par. You seem to think we are better than everywhere else.
Okay Mobus... so because I don't have a deep seeded hate for gum trees and modern suburban Architecture, I must be going 'so light on all things Australian'. And calling you out on your bull shit doesn't mean I have a superiority complex. It means I am calling you out on your bull shit.

If you're going to drag this thread even further off topic in an attempt to make me look like an idiot, I'll have every single one of your accounts you post on banned until you stop posting. You wouldn't be the first.

banning mobus was a bit ridiculous. sure he can be abrasive and overly critical/negative, but thats not a reason to ban anybody. its not like he was posting child porn and antagonising people viciously.

Yes, you can't ban somebody just because you find them annoying. :eek:hno:

I can think of a few posters that should be banned before mobus.

He was definitely not one of the worst imo.

Some mod must have a personal axe to grind.
Sydney doesn't even have a double decked suspension bridge...
I really dont think Sydney is lacking in the cool Bridge department...

These remind me of some of the social housing in upper Manhattan
Similar architectural style I guess. Though they are about 3 times the height.
Well of course its Sydney. It has the sheer density, the lack of glass due to the presence of larger, older skyscrapers, has the chaotic city streets, is a bit more brash and the tourist presence is far from subtle.
New York seems to lack a lot of glass in its towers, a feature shared by Sydney.
Cant be Brisbane, too much glass and sparkle
Cant be Melb, too much glass
Cant be Gold Coast, not enough density and too much sparkle
Cant be Adelaide, not enough height
Cant be Perth, not enough height or density
Cant be Canberra......nuff said
1947-53 construction- they were state of art housing .
largest flats in Southern hemisphere on completion with 309 rooms (800 people)
incredible locale. (architects Morrow and Gordon).-they did AWA and Grace building
height-120ft (36m roof) 40m LMR
12 storeys
covers 1 acre
steel frame with 1.5mil bricks
These remind me of some of the social housing in upper Manhattan
There are 'projects' like these all over Manhattan, including the Harlem projects, the Chelsea Houses near Penn Station and the projects on the Lower East Side. But yes, similar design and architecture.

No, it certainly isn't, but a suspension bridge would still be awesome, and thanks to Hell Gate Bridge,we have an idea on what it could look like...

How did you get yourself unbanned?
Because what I did wasn't even bad basically? The administrator reviewed it. It wasn't anything to do with the content of my posts.
Welcome back mobster :nocrook:

The great majority of buildings in New York City are generally pretty ugly.

Still can't believe that was ever said...
I can't believe it's been a year since I said that, and yet you still go on with it. I probably shouldn't expect much more from some body that obsesses over trees.

Get back to me when you've traveled further than Collins Street.
Hook, line and sinker dime.....
