Hi guys and girls - let me present to you the old medieval town center of Køge - one of Denmark's best preserved "old towns" from the Middle Ages...

Or that is atleast what the Tourist Office want you to believe... :)

Køge itself ( pop ~35.000 ) is a small city located 40km south of Copenhagen city center - and is on the tip of the "urban finger" that follows the Køge bay...

The city - as mentioned above - features an well preserved old town where you'll find houses from all the way back to the the 1500's located around the city square and the pedestrian streets nearby.

Well enough talk - let's get this show started!

Beautiful town... Lots of small cosy streets also.

You really produce some nice pictures.
looks quite cool :) Pretty, decent, well mantained, but why are those cars allowed there :(
Wow! What a nice colors on the buildings. Really like it. Thanks for the great pictures. :)
Architecture sure is very cute there. I'm not the biggest fan of those massive rows of cars though.
^^ Very clean, developed , and charming !
My sister will depart for Stockholm next week for architecture trip.

Denmark is fantastic.
Wow, that's a nice place, but it would be even nicer with a few underground parking lots... ;)
Actually it reminds me our Slovak towns...architecture is quite same..just for instance..other photos here

Many of the predestrian streets in small Danish towns allow cars in the middle at speeds of 15km or less. It actually works quite well because Danes tend to be very careful drivers and avoid the streets unless they really need to use them. Most of the time, people just walk down the middle, too.
nice pics on such a great sunny day
i actually work in køge
i hand out urban those free newspapers there
its a long comute but 105kr an hour without any taxes is good for a 16year old
^Without taxes??????

Are we talking under the "tax free limit" or illigal activities here???? :sly:

But yes 105 DKK an hour is very good for a 16 yo!
Great city - would have never thought that Koge has such old city. Have passed by the outskirts of Koge, thought that it is summerhouse extension for wealthy people of Copenhagen without much history...
Really love all the yellow and orange houses - beautiful:yes:...maybe I should visit Køge one day:)

Thanks for the pics D...

I think he means that he's using his "frikort" which means he can earn up to ca. 35,000 kr before he has to start paying taxes...
^That would be KJØGE miniby.... and no haven't been there... :)
The town looks so pleasant! Very cute!
