I've been in the military for about a year down here at Fort Monroe VA. Always thinking of you Chicago. I visited a park here in the Hampton Roads area Called Mt. Trashmore park. Outstanding recreation and a brilliant idea. How come an area as topographically flat as Chicagoland doesn't have 15 or 20 of these already is beyond me. check out the link tell me what you think. http://www.baltimoresun.com/travel/beaches/bal-bab-vatrashmore,0,4662582.story

There are actually a couple that I know of in the Chicagoland area. One of them is in James Park in Evanston, another one is somewhere on Willow Road near Palwaukee Airport (I think). Also, I've never seen it but I'm told there's also one in Naperville. None that I know of in the city limits though.

Settler's Hill Golf Course in Geneva is entirely built on a landfill, and it's surprisingly hilly compared to most other NE IL courses. (does kind of smell in places though, last time I played it.)
