Mambukal revenues seen to drop amid development in September Wednesday, June 29, 2016

The Provincial Government has allocated P84.4 million for the renovation and construction of the said facility, which is part of the P500-million infrastructure projects funded through a loan with the Land Bank of the Philippines (LBP).

The development, which will last for 12 to 18 months, includes the expansion of the convention hall, construction of additional accommodation facilities, including 48 new rooms, and repair and renovation of the tourist lodge.

Jalandoni said the resort management has already asked the PEO to prioritize the convention hall so that it can immediately operate and accommodate group meetings and seminars.

She added that the Commission on Audit (COA) during the last week’s meeting with Governor Alfredo Marañon Jr. has recommended that all catering services needed by the Capitol should be coursed through Mambukal.

“It is very timely, despite having some of our major facilities temporarily stop its operations, we can still recover possible reduction in revenues during the construction period,” Jalandoni added.

The resort management is also planning to rent a space at the Technology Livelihood and Development Center near the provincial Capitol building to be used as kitchen for catering services, both for events in Mambukal Resort and in Bacolod City.

While the construction is ongoing, operation of other amenities at the Mambukal will continue. The zip line and canopy walk is currently being fixed.

“After the construction, the project will surely impact positively to the revenues of the resort. It will also translate to more additional jobs for residents of Murcia and Negros Occidental,” Jalandoni said.
