It was still not warm (mainly because of the wind) so we go first inside the Cathedral.

There is also a Napoleonic fort in New Brighton, adjacent to the lighthouse -called 'Fort Perch Rock'. New Brighton is a good place for a river and sea-side stroll - with good views over towards Liverpool. New Brighton used to be a busy sea-side holiday resort - for people from Liverpool, as well as for those from much further afield. There was a typically British, large viewing tower ( with ballroom beneath) and a pier.
