Pretty bland design IMO. The architect should of used more creativity for this building. This and WestOne should be the sequel to the HVE towers.

That's bad. The massing is horrid, the roof even worse.
Yuck! Unless it has some brick too it which would at least be a change from the constant green glass and precast.

Then again, it's so horrid that not even brick will be able to save this one.
Actually this looks like a tiny bit more than an elevation but hardly a rendering... and it does indeed mimic the much taller West One, which has been well received.

God is in the details, and you don't have any of those... just a friendly reminder.

P.S. forgot to mention that the "Leaning Tower of N1" effect is very dramatic.. so that alone alone makes it special.... :)
lol. :)
But this is the real render for N1, it might change but this is the render they used in the ad that I cutted out from.
Yet one more block in the Gardiner saving wall!!

In any event, the volume of buildings - the truly stunning volume in this 'little Vancouver' area - will compensate for any one building's mediocrity.

In a few years; travelling through the Gardiner (if we suppose it will be still around which I'm certain it will) it will be like going through a tunnel. it's gonna be stunning.:tongue2:
You realize we are going to have to listen to are be run that same line by us for every single building built within a km of the Gardiner eh?

I'm still optimistic mostly the architectural firm is KPMB and quality of the rendering absolutely sucks (imagine how any of the cityplace buildings would look as a black & white line drawing)
Hey Travis007,

Did the ad mention anything else? I live in vancouver and am considering investing in cityplace to live...

Thanks for the help
Add 30 stories, and thats probably what signature is going to look like.

No, but you can register for 'priority viewing'. It is supposively real cheap, starting around 240-250 per sq foot. But my recommendation if you want to like at Cityplace, buy one of the exisitng Matrix/Apex buildings. Its a lot better situated in my opinion.

Or better yet, look at Murano2. I just registered myself.

I love Are Be's permanent state of sarcasm.

A whole city of mediocre buildings! Let's copy those screwball Vancouverites! 0+0+0=1!

:)
Ugly looking building. It reminds me of those old apartments towers on Isabella.

I guess this is what you get for $250/sq/ft. No doubt it will be glad in glass and those cheap looking puke green panels. YAY.

Are there any high-end buildings proposed for Cityplace?

We'll, you probably don't have to wait. It'll be the same 3-4 famous R Bisms that you hear over and over again.
Ever since I put RB on my ignore list, I've enjoyed this forum so much more.

Ease of use. Shorter threads. New thoughts instead of the same old "cut and paste.. I want u to be miserable like me" posts.... it has been truly invigorating... all with one little preference!

Not really, just a lot of bs about how inovative this building should be. You should try looking on the website. www.cityplace.com
try www.cityplace.ca instead. the .com site above is the one in Florida i think

Cityplace - Toronto

I'm thinking of adding "The Great Condo Retail Battle: Rabba Fine Foods vs Kitchen Table!"
This N1 tower, for example, might have BOTH kinds of retail, Rabba and Kitchen Table!
