Azkals mull training site in Qatar
MANILA, Philippines - Not easing up on their buildup, the Philippine Azkals will return to the Middle East in the coming months to hold training camps and play international matches in the run-up to the Asian Football Confederation Challenge Cup in May.

Azkals manager Dan Palami said arrangements are being made to bring the team to Qatar to hold a weeklong session beginning April 8 and pick up match fitness in matches against Nepal and Qatari club Al-Ahli.

BREAKING NEWS: Nepal To Play Against Philippines In A Friendly Match In Qatar!


GoalNepal.com has learned from the source that Nepal will take on the Philippines in a friendly match to be played in Doha, Qatar.

It is expected that the match will be played in the second week of April.

T20 World Cup 2014

The ICC World Twenty20 (also referred to as the ICC World T20 or the T20 World Cup) is the international championship of Twenty20 cricket. Nepal was qualified for Bangladesh T20 cricket. Nepal played its first ever match with Hong kong on Sunday 16 March 2014. Nepal won the battle of the Associate Member nations as they beat Hong Kong by 80 runs in their World T20 opener in Bangladesh.

MATCH HIGHLIGHTS:


Nepal won the toss and were batting first at Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium ( Bangladesh).During the wonderful match Gyanendra Malla ( Nepal's player) made 48 run...



And captain Paras Khadka contributed 41 to power the Nepal innings in the day-night encounter.





After 149 innings. It was Honk kong turn to bat while Nepal was to bowl.
Shakti Gauchan from Nepal took three wickets down. An astonishing achievement in his international career.



Hong Kong scored 69 overall. And Nepal won by smashing record of 80 runs. All media as well as Nepali fans were shocked by Nepal's achievement and Nepali headlines was full of cricket.

T20 World Cup 2014

The Himalayan Nation (Nepal) played its third match against Afghanistan on Thursday(20/03/2014).The adage ‘where there’s a will there’s a way’ befitted Team Nepal on Thursday as they registered a nine-run victory over a formidable foe Afghanistan in a thrilling ICC World Twenty20 match in Chittagong, Bangladesh .

MATCH HIGHLIGHTS:


Nepal finished level on four points with Bangladesh , but just missed out on a spot in the next stage to the hosts who progressed despite a shocking two-wicket loss to Hong Kong. Bangladesh one of the two Test-playing sides in the preliminary round, advanced on better run rate (+1.466 net run rate) against Nepal ’s (+0.933).

Subash Khakurel hit a maiden half-century to propel Nepal to 141-5. Excellent cricket from Nepali batsman!

Jitendra Mukhia claimed a career best 3-18, including two scalps in two balls in the fifth over, to restrict Afghanistan to 132-8 in 20 overs. Jitendra was claimed Man of the match!

Nepali Cricket fans were watching the match like crazy with excitement and cheering over the top.

Meanwhile, social media was abuzz with words of praise for Team Nepal . Everybody was tweeting and facebooking as well as the Nepali news headlines were full of cricket. Even the Captain Paras himself said :

The cricket team as well as the captain himself was welcomed like a king in Tribhuvan International airport( Nepal) after signing off with victory from Bangladesh.
