According to the image above, the height of the towers will be 318.5m and 238.3m. . nice yoo. :) :)
Thanks for sharing once again, and welcome to the forum Jason.

So what is the actual colors of the buildings? Light blue? White? As the renderings does not seem to show a true reflection of what the building might look like.

This project is actually designed by an internationally reknowned Japanese architecture, so I think it will look better in person once completed. It does look very purposeful in an industrial way which is reminiscent of many Japanese office buildings.

there is audacity in the design of these buildings...ooh, give this project a chance..he he

and welcome to this forum, jason!
How do those two towers reflect the character 'men'? Besides, i'm not sure I would call them twin towers coz it seems that they dont have the same height?

obviously, japaneses are an impenetrable people..ahaha..no, more seriousely, i recognize that this project is a little bizarre but those buildings's architecture looks like anyhow a... door, even if this is an unbalanced...door..(OMG, i only hope that it won't be an urban disaster..)

AWE i love this project i hoep it will finnish. an di hope they keep doing buildings as tall as 200 m
It hieght is really okay but the design is not impressive.
i think it will come out better in real ...
its fumihiko afterall ...
however they should hire some better renderer ...
those night renderings ... are done in a day at best ...
Simple form can result very nicely, when one does it right, see i-pod
I visited Maki's office as well as some of his projects few years ago when I was a student, and I am sure he will make it right.

Most of his projects have a clean, smooth nice look instead of special shape that catch eye from miles. But the real impressive parts come from the quality of space and details. Although he is 100% modernist, I would say the spaces he created has catch the spirit of Zen, and the details reflect Japanese craftsmanship.

Probably not much to do with local culture, but I am very positive this project will provide very thoughtful interior public spaces and excellent connections to surrounding and create a poetic space for people to hang around. And it will be finished in excellent details.

I am highly expect the completion of this project.

It should look just fine as long as the detailing and color scheme is chosen skillfully.
Does anybody have an update about this project?
I can see the design concept. This is really cool one, simple, elegant and meaningful design!
Really need to see what kind of materials they will use for the exterior shell, a box-like design easily turns into a mediocre building or even a disaster (likely will not tho, based on the architects reputation).

Landscaping looks ok, but I'm curious as to if there will be shopping malls in the new building? I remember when I was in Taipei, the only reason I went outside of Main Station was to walk across the street towards the Shin Kong area. The train station side of the street (where the new buildings will be) seemed pretty dead.

NIce design !
Can anyone give us an update on what's going on with this proposal? Has the construction started yet?
The construction of underground airport MRT station has begun, so far nothing above ground. Part of the site of taller tower is still used by bus station which will be moved to new station in iTaipei complex which is under construction north of Taipei Station (should finish next year).
