The time is fast approaching, one will be wondering what the Virgin Nigeria board has in mind. The aircaraft, Website and I think I can safely assume marketing docucments still bear the Virgin Logo. ummm. By now there should have been media reports, at least on the Virgin Nigeria Website notifying customers or the nation at large of the impending name change.

how does Eagle Air Sound?

If anything, I just hope it not something like Air Nigeria. I would prefer something different. It does not have to Have Nigeria in the name. eg Quantas for Australia. I will keep hoping.....:)

obviously you didnt get the memo. virgin nigeria is rebranding. richard branson wants nothing to do with virgin nigeria.
How about : Lagos Express .... or Abuja Express

Sounds very professional and cool.

Will Virgin allow it ?
Nigerian Air

A lot of thought have to be put in to chosing a name. Branding not just the airline, but also the country in terms of tourist destinations. Brochures, adverets on Billboards in destination countries.:):)

It will make it looks lopsided. The airlines belong to the nation.

Virgin Nigeria was doing well in some of those areas not until now.

It actually belongs to its SHAREHOLDERS. It is a private airline. But i do understand your point, the name needs to have a wide national appeal, to be accepted by evertone, and that would contribute to profitability. See the loop?!

I thought the nation still holds the largest shares in Virgin Nigeria. Now that Branson is willing to sell off his shares the airlines will be public than private venture.

Virgin Nigeria is an entirely private venture.

The majority of VNA's shares (51%) is held by Nigerian PRIVATE (institutional) shareholders, with the remaining 49% held by Virgin Atlantic. The Nigerian govt has NEVER held (nor has it expressed an interest in holding) any equity in VNA. If (or more precisely, when) VAL disposes of its VNA holding, it will be to PRIVATE holders.
Green Air
I subscribe to that. Green represents almost everything in Nigeria.
july 7 is geting closer, any news on what the new name might be?
