I think New Orleans must be one of the most interesting cities in USA. Very nice thread!
I fullly agree, the city's French Quarter is kind of unique from the rest of the American cities.
Bourbon Street is where the action is, live music in bars close to each other, playing jazz, rock, blues, rap and anything else and people with beer/alcohol glasses in their hands just walk around, stand in the street or up those balconies having fun and the three nights that I was there,
I did'nt see any untoward incidents/fightings.
Photos below were taken in late afternoon and as per few locals I talked to, it is off season and it would start to pick up in Oct/Nov
and climaxed in Feb for the mardi gras which last for a week.
