new sub forum?

ok im thinking perhaps we could have a forum specifically on photography rather than photos - things like photographic technique from basic composition to HDR, what lenses are best, even whats the best phone camera. what do people think?

if someone can tell me how to get the best out of my D80 before it gets out of date, then I'm interested

Is there enough to talk about to support a whole subforum? Couldn't we have one on kittens, squirrels and Richard Armitage instead?

No, not guinea pigs. Guinea pigs are rubbish. Hamsters are much better - or h4msters as I'll always know them from now on.

Go for it James, sometimes I think there are too many sticky threads in the UPC dealing with stuff like this.

Also all those threads in the skybar asking for advice on new cameras and stuff can go into that forum.

Such a place may attract more photographers to SSC as well.

ok i will sort it out. any suggestions on the forum name. the number of stickys has made me realise perhaps we need this. i see it as making it a venue for photographers, even if they arent posting many photos. i dont expect it to boom overnight but these things, even if they take time, do eventually catch on and add tens of thousands of posts.

Don't worry Wendi, we can have a dedicated squirrel thread in the new section. As long as you can think of a way to connect squirrels with cameras and photographic tecniques of course.
