Not every tower needs to be a masterpiece. Functional and blending in are the keywords here. You're barely going to notice this tower and I think it'll look decent for a filler.

AMEN ^^
Remember, if the building isn't going to stand above the rest of the buildings, it doesn't need to be spectacular. Plus this is NYC, land of functionality, practicality, and maximizing floor space. Boxes are essential.

99 Washington Road Closures for Crane Removal

http://www.lowermanhattan.info/news/99_washington_road_closures_40649.aspx

The 50-story superstructure of 99 Washington Street is now complete, and this month the tower crane will be removed from the site, which is at the northeast corner of Washington and Rector.

The operation involves full road closures on Washington Street between Albany and J.P. Ward Streets; and on Rector Street between West and Greenwich Street, including closure of the Washington-Rector intersection. From April 15th through 21st, closures are permitted Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m.; Sundays from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m.; and weeknights from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m.

Detour signs and flagpersons will be posted to help redirect traffic. The tower is expected to open in early 2014 as a Holiday Inn hotel.
