The new tall glass towers are great, but sad to see NYC lose its old charm with the classic art deco skyscrapers being crowded out by the curvy glass towers.

Yeah I know it's not something that hasn't been said millions of times already.

I've been fascinated by New York during the 1930s. A modern city filled with supertalls, lights, traffic, a subway system and pretty much everything you expect from a city today... but 80 years ago... that would have been nothing short of spectacular.

Such an amazing city. Truly a world city and like London, Tokyo, Hong Kong and Shanghai, in a class of their own. Great pics btw!

If you go to New York, pay a few extra bucks and go to the 102nd Floor Observatory at the top of the spire...The view isn't much different but go...because it is there : ) and you have an option of walking down the stairs from the regular Observation deck down to the floor where the first step back starts in this photo. It's part of the experience.
