Was looking at eBay the other evening, when I saw these two items for sale for £1.99.

I was feeling a bit thirsty, so I put in a bid and ended up paying £3.20, and here they are, I received them (in as new / unused condition) only two days later.

Think I'll keep them, rather than drink  them though . . .

The Newcastle 900 Anniversary Ale, has been previously discussed on this thread . . .

Here is the Newcastle 900 Anniversary Ale.

Two photos from my Newspaper Cuttings collection from 1980, and a Beermat that I got at the time . . .

Aye, unlike fine wine I ve a feeling that wasn't designed to be laid down, condition in the bottle and enjoyed 40 years later . If you fancy opening one we'll have the paramedics on speed-dial

I remember that 1980 ('Newcastle 900 Year') was a great year for Newcastle books and items of memorabilia, especially at the Newcastle 900 Shop in Chevy Chase in the Eldon Square Shopping Centre . . .

What I have only recently realised is that "Newcastle 900 Souvenirs" still remain very popular (here in 2020) on eBay.

Here is a screenshot showing some (but not all) of the current Newcastle 900 items up for sale on eBay . . .

Today, 29th July 2020, I have just seen this somewhat 'unusual' Newcastle 900 Souvenir from 1980, appear for sale on eBay.

It is a piece of "Coal from Newcastle" in a box, with a Newcastle 900 Certificate. Price - £8.00, plus £4.00 P&P.

I think I'll resist temptation !!
