I don't so much think a blank brick wall is a problem because it looks bad, it's a problem because it's blank. There's no life on the street as a result.

I agree ... a completely wasted street frontage right in the middle of the city which creates a hideous 'dead area' !

obviously we see the same 'although decorated' system in operation with the new ES South (back wall) onto an extremely narrow Newgate street complete with false windows and all hno:

That's not really true, Westgate Road is still a big draw for bikers, especially on a Saturday. Come a Saturday during the summer you literally cannot move for bikers. I know this as I live there and have done for a few years now.

yup .. It is bloody too busy on a Saturday !! I used to frequent the place often, especially for spares etc. In fact it's busier now than it's ever been with the expansion of M&S Cycles and with at least 10 other retailers with a foothold bikers come far and wide to compare, buy and hang out.
