It's better in that it's a new build created for its site, not a half-arsed refurb of a clunky 70s shopping centre. It's pretty ******* uninspiring, though, architecturally.
Indeed, it's pretty bland but that's the point. We should be able to say, somewhat condescendingly, "good for you Beeston!"- knowing that the real quality development going on in the city is of course much more substantial and impressive.

But as things stand, this slight spark of ambition they've shown is better than anything leisure wise going on in Nottingham at the moment. How thoroughly depressing.

The residential aspect is confirmed to be developed by Monk Estates under their Hylyfe brand, a decision on the final details is expected next week before work on site can begin.

Construction has now halted on the cinema until further notice due to COVID-19, these photos were taken this morning on my way to the shops:
