The diggers are now on site at Hollygate Park (Cotgrave Colliery) and Hollygate Lane is due to be closed in a weeks time to allow the access route to be constructed.
Not sure if this has already been mentioned (I did try search!).

Nottingham Castle Point is the conversion of an existing building on Castle Boulevard (towards the castle) into 14 apartments:

Nice, looks like they have sold the majority of Phase 1 and 2 already...
There's more work going on at Trent Basin - the big green unit between the boat club and the site has now vanished and it looks like most of the rest of the planned site has been emptied.
Some of the final site clearence at Trent Basin:-

The new flood defences wall at Trent Basin is going up

Looks a lot less grotty than the old one.

Where abouts along the Trent is this?
Just west of the Hook in Lady Bay - looking at the area of land due West of the Park Yacht Club / South of the new East Point Retail Park construction site.

I thoughts it was around there, will be interesting following this

A shame it separates the land from the river so much. There are much nicer ways of protecting land from flooding than a massive concrete wall!

They are rebuilding what was there previously (aside from the old one being in disrepair) - it's not like they are building a new flood defence here or anything higher. It's a shame it couldn't be done nicer but most of the river around here is like that - River Crescent is the odd one out, but that itself is built on a large mound. I don't recall seeing any mention of flood defence works in the plans so I assume they have found it substandard and done a like for like replacement?
I feel this is where the original 'River Crescent' development should have been built in the first place. I know it's a new building and so on, and the building itself I quite like, but from Lady Bay it appears as an absolute abomination on what would otherwise be beautiful countryside by the river.

How it ever got planning permission, the mind boggles

Sven surely had to have a suitable base while he masterminded County's unstoppable rise to the top of the Premier League and subsequent domination of European football.

What was there before (It was under construction when I moved to that neck of the woods)?. Looks quite nice too me, and much better than the unsightly industrial units. Would of course be even better if there was a bridge over the river into an extension of Colwick Park

Willmott Dixon on site at Trent Basin with first homes due in spring next year according to todays Post . Excellent news , and plenty of poor quality riverside commercial/industrial buildings in that area that hopefully will also be redeveloped on the back of this
The first developments are always bound to be the hardest to get going because it's a total shithole in fairness. But once people start living there and the accompanying amenities follow it will really take off, I'm sure. Riverside apartment, virtually in West Bridgford with a lovely big Waitrose to shop at but also virtually in Nottingham city centre? It's middle class paradise!

Might be virtually in west Bridgford, but at the same time completely cut off from it. Until the proposed bridge materialises it's a good 20 minute walk to get to the edge of Bridgford via a dilapidated industrial estate and main roads (West Bridgford town centre can't really handle any more motor traffic either).

As it stands Nottingham city centre and West Bridgford town centre will be about the same walking distance away (i.e. 30 minutes - too far for most people) - if the bridge materialises then it's about 15 minutes walk via a nature reserve (and busy cycle route) and Lady Bay to Bridgford making it more practical. The supermarket at the top of the main road into the estate will also be an Aldi!
It wouldn't be a very pleasant walk into Bridgford from there either past Lady Bay Retail Park or into the city either. A footbridge would make a huge difference to that area no doubt
