I used SSP's diagram page to find out how many 100m+ buildings exist in Canadian cities. Add cities from your neck of the woods. Use the link below to find your city! http://skyscraperpage.com/diagrams/links/ The data seems fairly indicative for Canada, but if it's not for your country/city, feel free to use what ever source you want. I'm sure the Chinese data on SSP is wildly off.

Toronto 247
Calgary 64
Vancouver 49
Montreal 41
Edmonton 14
Mississauga 11
Winnipeg 5
Niagara Falls 5
Ottawa 3
Quebec City 2
Hamilton 2
Burnaby 2
London 1

Side note: the SSP link includes proposals/on hold as well. I checked, and lots of the buildings listed as proposals, are actually under construction. To keep things simple and to avoid having to comb through all the data, let's leave it as is: built, u/c, approved, and proposed/on hold.

It won't be perfect, but will give a rough indication of 100 m+ buildings around the world. Perhaps, treat it as a fun thread, more than anything concrete.

Sydney: 158
Melbourne: 136
Brisbane: 75
Perth: 23
Adelaide: 5
Gold Coast: 70

Total = 467

Source is my going through state forums, counting the projects. I've most likely missed a few, added a few too many which are no longer in existence so please forgive. I'll keep adjusting the numbers as I find out more.

edit: I get the feeling I've done this wrong. Are we including proposed/under construction etc?

Built, under construction, approved, proposed, on hold. I went on SSP, because it's easier, but it's not as accurate as going through the actual data yourself. I'm sure SSC has a lot more up to date info on recent construction than that SSP diagram list I linked.

Huesca - 0. Almost had one of exactly 100 meters, but they topped out that at 75...

(If church towers counts, of course)

I have counted only those which are currently U/C (and of which I am aware).

Counting all completed 100m+ buildings (that includes churches and TV-towers too) then:
Hamburg: 7 (1 TV-tower, 4 church towers, 2 highrises)
Berlin: 12 (3 TV-towers, 9 highrises)
Munich: 7 (1 TV-tower, 6 highrises)
Cologne: 12 (1 TV-tower, 1 church, 10 highrises)
Frankfurt: 29 (1 TV-tower, 28 highrises)
Stuttgart: 1 TV-tower
Dortmund: 3 (1 TV-tower, 2 churches)
Düsseldorf: 4 (1 TV-tower, 3 highrises)
Essen: 2 highrises
Bremen: 1 TV-tower
Hannover: 2 TV-towers
Leipzig: 1 highrise
Dresden: 2 (1 TV-tower, 1 castle tower)
Nürnberg: 2 (1 TV-tower, 1 highrise)
Bielefeld: 1 TV-tower
Bonn: 2 highrises
Mannheim: 2 (1 TV-tower, 1 highrise)
Kiel: 1 TV-tower
Rostock: 1 church
Schwerin: 2 (1 TV-tower, 1 church)
Lübeck: 5 (4 churches, 1 highrise)
Osnabrück: 1 church
Münster: 1 TV-tower
Magdeburg: 1 church
Jena: 1 highrise
Bremerhaven: 2 (1 TV-tower, 1 highrise)
Kaiserslautern: 1 church
Freiburg: 1 church
Ulm: 1 church
Augsburg: 1 highrise
Regensburg: 1 church
Schleswig: 1 church
And most probably some more towns with a 100m+ church tower.

So in total for Germany (more or less):
21 TV-towers
at least 20 church towers
at least 71 highrises
at least 1 castle tower

= at least 113 completed 100m+ buildings

Technically we'd have to add GKM's Block 8 Machinery House to that (100m), as well as the currently building Block 9 Machinery House (120m, reached).

Ludwigshafen is missing in both German lists btw (BASF's "Friedrich-Engelhorn-Hochhaus" office scraper is 102m).
