Morocco has signed three exploration contracts with three international oil companies from Cyprus, Canada and Malaysia, MAP news agency reported.

The agreements were signed, on the sidelines of the 4th conference "Maghreb & Mediterranean Oil and Gas 2006" in Marrakech, by Amina Benkhadra, general director of the National Office of Hydrocarbons and Mines (ONHYM), with the representatives of Cabre Maroc Ltd (Cyprus), Transatlantic Maroc Ltd (Canada) and Genting Oil Morocco Ltd (Malaysia).

These bring the number of agreements signed with ONHYM in the mining sector to 17 agreements and six reconnaissance contracts in collaboration with 20 partners.

The contracts cover a total area of 237,195,40 km2, providing for four exploration concessions, 85 research permits (14 onshore and 71 offshore) and six onshore reconnaissance authorisations.

The Minister of Energy and Mining, Mohamed Boutaleb, invited on Wednesday international oil companies to benefit from morocco's potentials.

“Morocco, with its 350,000 km2 of sedimentary basins, constitutes an interesting and practically virgin zone for oil drilling,” he underlined.

“Although we are satisfied with the quality of cooperation with the oil companies operating in Morocco at present, our subsoil is still under-tapped,” he added.

Don't know if this was already posted here :

Interesting analysis by prof. Akesbi.

Important points in the video :

1. La SAMIR was a shock absorber to rising oil prices until its mysterious "bankruptcy"...
2. the liberation of oil prices in Morocco led to thrust agreements between oil companies...
3. The competition board/council is quasi absent when it comes to oil prices in the country.
4. The lack of will of the government regarding tackling the broker system that stands between the producer and the consumer.
5. For the first time since the 70s, we are experiencing a stagflation (a stagnant economy with an increasing inflation).
6. By losing its national economic sovereignty, the state lost the capability to withstand economic crisis and we are currently paying the price.
7. Therefore, it should regain a position that enables it to regulate/control/moderate the economy for the sake of the well being of the country.
8. It should also alleviate temporarily the taxes on oil products to absorb the shock of the crisis.
9. At the same time, oil companies operating in the country should reduce temporarily the profit margin.
10. La SAMIR and the competition board should operate again, followed by a reform of the national subvention fund.

A l'entendre parler de "subvention nationale à lasamir " , "reprendre le contrôle de l'économie " , "souveraineté économique " on se croirait chez les bolcheviques ....heureusement que les vieux fous comme lui ne sont pas au pouvoir

He made a disclaimer for people who might interpret his suggestion the way you did. He said that the state should regain its power on the economy not in an old fashioned way aka the communist way but in a modern and democratic way.

Btw the hidden hand of the market is a myth. The state will eventually meddle in the economy either to regulate it or to clean the mess left by the greed of the private sector. The 2008 crisis is a great example. The gov were forced to clean the mess of the banks and who payed the price ? The people who were forced to live under austerity mesures.

The Bolsheviks were put on mode , as a mesure to scare the hell out of the catle , so the catle can run into the hands of the Jackhal Banksters.
And the result is this Russo/Ukrain war.
