I'm just here to ask you what is the REAL influence Portugal has over Macao and the rest of China nowadays.. this discussion started in the World Forums, we're discussing about Portugal's influence in the Far-East. Can anyone comment on this??

Portuguese is still an official language in Macau today, and the Portuguese colonial era has left behind a lot of squares and distinct architecture in the city. There is also some fusion in Chinese and Portuguese cuisine. Portugal's influence on China is limited, since the amount of trade between the two countries was dwarfed by Britain and Macau was a small colony.
