No, it would be #1 for all times as there's no city left that features a skyline of only classic towers.

i know what you mean, but still, a city can't stay a museum - progress is the essence. i think the mix of old and new is great, the only problem i got are some fat boxes located in lower manhattan. they are very unappealing to the eye, and the lack of dominating towers (i.e. supertalls) makes it even worse. i just can't wait till 1WTC finally makes its presence known from everywhere.

btw, i just noticed something: ny's first supertall (by roof): ESB, 1931. ny's latest supertall: 1WTC 2013. dear lord, what a timeline. :nuts:

Wow, what a photo. It really solidifies how legendary pre-war Manhattan was. Immigrants must have felt they had arrived in a city of the gods back in those days. Supreme architecture.

What a great shot! The aircraft is most likely the prototype of the Douglas DC-4, which first flew in 1938. Picture was most likely taken in 1938/'39.
