PhilRealty is set to begin work on El Pueblo, a one-hectare mixed-use project with a retail anchor within the Ortigas business district.

The redeveloped property will now include office, residential and service apartment components.

I believe this El Pueblo project is the current El Pueblo Real de Manila (A.K.A. El Pueblo) commercial complex at the corner of Julia Vargas Ave. and ADB Avenue finally being redeveloped.

Finally, after BDO Corporate Center, some much needed office space in the pipeline for Ortigas Center.

Ugh! If you are referring to those restaurants beside the JMT building, I'd rather they stay just the way they are (plus I lilke going there). I'm not really keen on having a tall building there as it will diminish the presence of the existing buildings.

Plus a retail anchor means traffic galore on an already heavy traffic area. Its also madness given that part of Ortigas is over-retailed already with SM Megamall, the Podium (which is expanding), and so on.
There was an article about El Pueblo a couple of years ago. If the plans didn't change, we might see this

PhilRealty is also in initial talks with Greenhills Properties to develop a portion of a property in El Pueblo in the Ortigas business district.

Vista Land and Lifescapes Inc., a company owned by the family of Senator Manuel Villar, earlier expressed interest in developing the El Pueblo property.

Bacani said the 4,000-square meter property in Ortigas could accommodate one residential tower with retail space on a ground level and possible one office tower.

A retail anchor doesn't necessarily translate to a big mall that could cause huge traffic jams. For all we know their definition of an anchor could be just a strip of street-facing retail on street level. We can always wait for more details to be released before throwing stones on this project.

Besides, I believe supporting them in this endeavor is a good thing as this is one of the renewed projects of Philrealty that signals its return to its rightful place as a premier developer of office towers and mid-range to luxury residential properties.

And let's not forget, after Cyber(scape) Alpha + Beta and BDO, there's not much going on in the office scene for Ortigas Center, whereas other alternative business districts and townships are getting an influx of new office towers. If this is one of Ortigas Center's chance to get another office tower, I wouldn't give much concern on it also having a big retail area.

meron na po bang update itong redevelopment sa el pueblo? sana matuloy to...
I hope its real, napa-like pa man din ako sa post ni @anakngpasig hehe. Do we have a bigger rendering sir? Well I hope this is legit. Bagay na bagay sa skyline ng Ortigas.
^^Well, let's see if kaya na ba ng mga Lanuzas. Hehe. Kaka exit pa lang ng PhilRealty from rehab. They also have a project in BGC (Project Cube 5th Avenue) and another in Greenhills with one of their partners.
OT: ito yung project nila sa Greenhills, no name yet pero looks promising if they can deliver. PhilRealty is becoming ambitious lately. :D

Saan mo nakuha tong pic na to? Any official site kung saan makikita tong project na to?
Woah! It looks so massive most especially when you compared it to nearby buildings...

When I first saw it akala ko XL na One Corporate Center...

Your turn SM/BDO/Benguet Center...

^^kung ganyan talaga kataas yan and not exaggeration ng artist, it could be a supertall. Remember that Discovery Suites just two lots away is already 167m tall. I tried manually counting the number of floors and I counted at least 80.

The problem talaga ng mga Lanuza, kulang na kulang sila sa cash after the Asian Financial Crisis.
