This will be Norways and Oslos tallest building if approved.

The promotion blurb from the architects homepage:

Kristin Jarmund Architects, in collaboration with C. F. Møller Architects were awarded 1st prize in an invited competition to design a spectacular new landmark project in the city of Oslo, for the client KLP Eiendom AS, one of Norway’s largest property developers.

Right in the centre of Oslo lies Oslo Central Station, a hub that serves as the entry point to Oslo from the world. Kristin Jarmund Architects, C.F. Møller Architects and Rodeo Arkitekter together with Bollinger & Grohman Ingeniører and Transsolar are now developing a zoning plan for KLP Eiendom on the neighbouring property: Biskop Gunnerus Gate 14B. The development consists of a new urban space with square, hotel and high rise right by Oslo Central Station, that provides the city with high quality outdoor areas and helps to establish important urban connections between various neighbourhoods, the Aker river and the transport hub.

The project consists of two volumes, a hotel and an office buidling, placed on a shared pedestal. The volumes are broken down into several sub-volumes that refer to scales and proportions in the surrounding cityscape. The resulting terraces, planted with trees and gardens, transport the green landscape found by the Aker river up into the sky. At the same time, large vertical openings at each terrace expose life on the inside.

More illustrations.

Elevations.

Ground floor/public spaces.

Site plan.

Impact on surroundings. These renderings aren't completely accurate as the two other highrises that surrounds it are both set for a re-development and there are also other buildings planned in its vicinity that will be visible here.

It is important for Oslo that every highrise built has a high aesthetic quality. Otherwise, the sentiments presently against more highrises will be hard to turn.

This one is good, but not great.

I`m surprised they dared to propose a new tallest building, since many would hold the chances for getting the building permission higher by keeping the heights just below the presently tallest.
