[Ostrava] Nová Karolína

thats one amazing and gigantic project for Ostravakay:

I only hope they are not going to build there some cheap-looking super-hyper-market...
I think better idea would be to divide such a big area to smaller ones and give opportunity to more investors. Of course all would have to respect some regulative plan.

I love it. Its great news for Ostrava and in my opinion it will look much more beautiful than the urban studies pictures from last year

Project is very interesting. In my opinion it is necessary to build office buildnigs, shops, hotels in this empty city center.:applause:

This is what they built in Prague. Before construction had started, they promised to build lively quarter with streets and squares, this it the result: indifferent boxy cheap-looking ultrahuge shopping centre. Consumerism triumph.

I have problem with this projected shopping centre too. I like the OMA's design but I have inconsistent feeling of dimensions of this shopping centre. I think it's very very huge for this location. So we will see how it fits in context with other new buildings...

As long as you´re coming directly from the metro station it´s not that bad. To tell the truth I´ve never seen shopping centre outside the city centre based on great architecture. If it were somewhere near the city centre architects had to be pushed to do something better because of neighbouring historical buildings etc. otherwise they can do what they want because there are no limits for them...

Well, it could be worse. Some of these proposals are quite appropriate IMO, it could form pleasant streets and squares. I will say my opinion after its completion though. BTW thank you for Ostrava updates Honza, great work kay:

Jak zjišťuji tak tohle je v Ostravě obrovský problém. V současnosti se v Ostravě staví 3 velké kancelářské projekty a informovanost je prakticky nulová. CTP se o stavbě svého mrakodrapu neobtěžuje informovat vůbec, betonujou se základy a přitom nikde na netu nejsou ani žádné pořádné vizualizace.... Nordica má alespoň svou stránku, na té jsou ale jen 3-4 použitelné vizualizace, aktuality = 0. The Orchard občas nějaké nové fotky z výstavby ukáže, ale poslední jsou asi tak ze září... U připravovaných staveb je to to samé. Karolina se má začít stavět na jaře, poslední informace na oficiálních stránkách je ze srpna minulého roku... Mrakodrap na Jindřichu chtěji začít stavět v létě - opět neexistuje ani oficiální stránka, ani pořádné vizualizace....
