I'm no doubt guilty for not putting this message on the sidebar. Sorry, I thought I'd put it here for more exposure.

My sense is that throughout the forum, too many of the conversations about cities have turned into incredibly cruel and down right nasty bashing of other folks' home towns. The tone of the language appears to have gotten uglier and uglier and more designed to attack other cities in the basest of ways.

There is almost a sense here that one's own city cannot be good unless other cities are put down in the most tasteless ways.

I'm not innocent myself of avoiding some fo the shouting matches between cities I've seen here, but the tone of the recent stuff is beyond anything I've seen here before.

Sorry...just had to speak my mind.

remember the ugliest city thread? it turned into a "which is slummiest; china or india"
strange. two countries that are getting some of the most advanced, high tech US jobs. I sincerely hope that in 20 or 30, those folks won't be logging on to to skycraper city forum asking "is the US the slummiest nation in the world?"
