Vila Rica do Ouro Preto (from Portuguese, Black Gold Rich Village) is a city in the state of Minas Gerais, Brazil, a former colonial mining town located in the Serra do Espinhaço mountains and designated a World Heritage Site by UNESCO because of its outstanding Baroque architecture.

There are other wonderful colonial cities on the state called Minas Gerais in Brazil : the nicest are Tiradentes, Diamantina and Ouro Preto but Minas Gerais has the famous Basílica de Bom Jesus de Matosinhos in Congonhas that is World Heritage by UNESCO too. Unfortunatelly we can´t take pictures inside the churches because they are full of golden and richness art. The museums are precious too.

Congonhas- Minas Gerais
