India's first Defence Industrial Park in public sector at Ottapalam in Palakkad district of Kerala is getting ready
Inauguration of KINFRA Defense Park at Ottapalam, Palakkad District in the Defense Industry Zone.
Ottapalam is the first public sector defense park in the country. The park has been set up on 60 acres at a cost of Rs 130.94 crore. The project also has central assistance of `50 crore. The Defense Park will be able to bring together various units that manufacture defense equipment under one umbrella.
The Ottapalam Defense Park will be the focus of attention in the country as the Central Government has decided to ban the import of 101 defense products as part of the Atmanirbhar Bharat project.
The Defense Park is equipped with infrastructure facilities (standard design factory), warehouses and a common utility center. With the opening of the park, Kerala will have great potential in the defense industry.
പ്രതിരോധ വ്യവസായ മേഖലയിൽ പാലക്കാട് ജില്ലയിൽ ഒറ്റപ്പാലത്ത് കിൻഫ്രയുടെ പ്രതിരോധപാർക്ക് ഉദ്ഘാടന സജ്ജം.
പൊതുമേഖലയിലെ രാജ്യത്തെ ആദ്യ ഡിഫൻസ് പാർക്കാണ് ഒറ്റപ്പാലത്ത് ഒരുങ്ങിയത്. 130.94 കോടി ചെലവിൽ 60 ഏക്കറിലാണ് പാർക്ക് തയ്യാറാക്കിയിരിക്കുന്നത്. 50 കോടിയുടെ കേന്ദ്രസഹായവും പദ്ധതിക്കുണ്ട്. പ്രതിരോധ ഉപകരണങ്ങൾ നിർമിക്കുന്ന വിവിധ യൂണിറ്റുകളെ ഒരു കുടക്കീഴിൽ കൊണ്ടുവരാൻ ഡിഫൻസ് പാർക്കിന് സാധിക്കും.
ആത്മനിർഭർ ഭാരത് പദ്ധതിയുടെ ഭാഗമായി 101 പ്രതിരോധ ഉല്പന്നങ്ങളുടെ ഇറക്കുമതി നിരോധിക്കാൻ കേന്ദ്രസർക്കാർ തീരുമാനിച്ച സാഹചര്യത്തിൽ ഒറ്റപ്പാലം പ്രതിരോധ പാർക്ക് രാജ്യത്തെ ശ്രദ്ധാ കേന്ദ്രമാകും.
അടിസ്ഥാന സൗകര്യങ്ങളോടെയുള്ള കെട്ടിടങ്ങൾ(സ്റ്റാന്റേർഡ് ഡിസൈൻ ഫാക്ടറി) വെയർ ഹൗസുകൾ, കോമൺ യൂട്ടിലിറ്റി സെന്റർ തുടങ്ങിയ സൗകര്യങ്ങളാണ് പ്രതിരോധ പാർക്കിൽ സജ്ജമാക്കിയിട്ടുള്ളത്. പാർക്ക് പ്രവർത്തനം തുടങ്ങുന്നതോടെ പ്രതിരോധ വ്യവസായ രംഗത്ത് കേരളത്തിന് വലിയ സാധ്യത കൈവരും.

This is a great move by IIT. At last Palakkad got a good start up, technology innovation hub. Govt sanctioned 100 crore for the first phase. So the start up ideas will implemented and will reach market.
Focusing on Robotics, Agriculture, Transportation, Medical technologies, Networking etc.
Technology Innovation Hub - Intelligent Collaborative Systems
IIT Palakkad is glad to announce that the DST’s National Mission on Interdisciplinary Cyber Physical Systems (NM-ICPS) has selected us as one of the Host Institutes for the establishment of a Technology Innovation Hub (TIH) in the technology Intelligent Collaborative Systems at a total tentative cost of Rs. 100 Crores for 5 years.
The NM-ICPS set up by the Union Cabinet will have 25 Host Institutes with an outlay of Rs. 3660 Crores over a period of 5 years. The TIH activities will involve establishment of a Section-8 Company including Technology Business Incubators. The Hub will act like a mini-ministry wherein they can receive or support projects to other institutes, industry, and work towards delivery of technology and applications. The TIH will focus on generation of new knowledge through basic and applied research in the area of Intelligent Collaborative Systems. TIH’s activities include (a) Technology Development through expert driven research, consortium-based research through cluster-based network programmes, directed research for specific requirements of the industry, other government verticals and international collaborative research programmes (b) HRD and Skills Development through Fellowship based UG/PG, PhD, Post-doctoral and short term training for faculty (c) Innovation, Entrepreneurship and Start-up Ecosystem, and establish International Collaborations.
