Panamá: Skyscrapers of Panamá

Province/Distrit: Panamá
City: Panamá
Place: Skyscrapers of Panamá

Though Panama is regionally acknowledged for its skyline, most of the skyscrapers who shape that siluet were built during the last two decades. With modern and post-modern styles, some of them even are part of the futuristic architecture, like the strange case of the F&F Tower, called “El Tornillo” (or The Screw) by the people of the city. Without getting to the extravagance of Dubai or the capitals of the Middle East, the skyscrapers of Panama usually have sober shapes, simple lines and light blue courtain walls in their designs, mostly standing out thanks to the high height. Some cases like the Global Bank Tower experiment with different colours (in this case, the golden colour). Other examples, like the Tower Financial Center or the Oceania Business Plaza, two huge complexs of beautiful dark-glass skins. However, the tallest tower of Panama (and the second one of Latin America) is the Trump Ocean Club International Hotel & Tower, nowadays famous for obvious reasons, who became an important place for the tourists who visit the city.

Panama City's skyline is really world class! I think the city starts to look more and more like Dubai, but much greener of course.

Panamá: Metro of Panamá

Province/District: Panamá
City: Panamá
Place: Metro of Panamá

Though it only has 1 line, the new network of the Metro of Panama unites many of the most relevant places of the city like the Albrook Mall (and the Airport), the Iglesia del Carmen (church), a station near the historical district (Casco Viejo) and even the Cinta Costera, having in mind that a big part of its route runs just in front of that avenue. The Line 1 is complement in the full plan with the Lines 2 and 3, both in construction. These two connects the main areas with the suburbs such as La Doña and Rana de Oro.

Panama: Tocumen International Airport

Province/District: Panama
City: Panama
Place: Tocumen International Airport

Like El Dorado in Bogotá, the Tocumen Airport is placed at the middle of South and North America, both regions with heavy air traffic. Tocumen takes advantage of it and it’s the middle points between final destinations, also acting as the ground for the flights who go to many of the caribbean countries. The airport is known for being the hub of Copa Airlines and it’s currently on a huge expansion, with the famous architect Norman Foster involved. In 2015, Tocumen managed to receivee almost 13.500.000 passengers.
