I'm ashamed to say I've never been inside le Centre Pompidou (or Beaubourg as the locals call it). Next stop in Paris I'll visit it.

Beaubourg is also what they call the neighborhood bordered by the rectangle that I've centered here:

I like this neighborhood. It is not only touristy because of the museum but also yuppie and gay, especially since it's between Le Marais and Les Halles neighborhoods.

Centre Pompidou (Beaubourg) is the best 20th century building in Paris, and maybe the best post-war building in Europe. Apart from its architectural significance, it brings colours, fun, high-tech and public spaces to central Paris. I love it!

I still think that it should be destroyed as there are industrial wildlands with much more achitectural quality and whose location suits better their post-modern desolation.
Always build new buildings that ape all of the other buildings that are already there so that a commieblock level of architectural consistency can be maintained at all times.
