i guess in paris it's cheaper and easier to build over roads than to demolish some lower residential building and ligitate with all the assotiations they have :lol::lol:

^^ Not cheapier but easier and faster.
It is complicated to expropriate residents, for the reason that you involve.
It is not impossible but it would take much more time.

Unibail want to build fast, a small skyscraper to easily gain money and fast.
Large scale project like Phare tower take more time to be realised.
As you imagine more time to be realised means that the investor will wait more time to have a profitable investment.

Well that's something different for Paris. I think there are buildings in Tokyo that are made in a similar manner.
Tower isn't anything spectacular though. The trees are a bit odd somehow.

Not crazy about building over roads... But the final result is nice, it creates a greater open area with the ground-level squares around it.

More greenery in the sky is nice. Although it will be in the shadow of Tour Areva.
Btw, is it me or does the height difference between this and Tour Areva seem more than 17 meters?
