Eucalyptus trees on the perimeter like Stanford, very nice (though those things cause fires).
Will they ever round / fill in the corners since the LA Galaxy have moved to Home Depo, to make it a nice oval?

They have a big renovation plan on their web site, the main concerns are to replace the current press box (including a club seating teir and much larger suites) and build a new concourse/circulation area around the stadium. They are also planning on splitting most of the sections in half and adding small concourse at the top rim of the facility. There is talk of making it an all seater (replace the bleachers) and new scoreboards as well. As far as the plans were concerned it looked like it would still be able to take a soccer pitch, but on of the renderings showed the bowl completed, so it's possible.

i would say 75k-80k

I believe low to mid 80s, but the sidelines and first 10 or so rows on the ends are already chairbacks. Keep in mind the new press box includes a small club tier (maybe 3,000) in addition to the suites and press, so it could be more like 85,000, but I am not exactly sure.

Although it's a 90K+ stadium it is not impressive at all (no roof and no steep stands).

who cares if theres no roof? who cares if theres no steep stands? This is an international forum, get used to things that arent like where you come from. Everyone has different ideas on how things are done. We dont like roofs, they arent needed

The one time I went there, it was for a 4th of July fireworks show!! One of the best I've attended -- which of course would not be possible in a new 'roofed' stadium like Birds Nest.

If it's got no roof, wear one of those 'umbrella' hats.

It's already an all-seater - there's no such thing as terracing in the U.S. (well, in the European sense at least - some baseball stadiums do have small little grass hills that fans can sit on called terraces, but it doesn't count towards capacity and is nothing like terraces in the normal sense of the word). Every stadium in the U.S. is an all-seater. Plus, there's no need for a roof - American football fans like being out in the elements and not having a roof overhead. Plus, it's Southern California, it's not like there's many "elements" out there anyways.

Since World Cup 1994 I just LOVE this stadium...

the downshot of the Rose Bowl really does it justice.
The curving lines are so elegant and beautiful.
