Todays Gulf Madhyamam edition. Secura Centre project will come in a size of 2.5 - 3 Lakh Sq Ft. Also not sure if they are serious about Cinepolise. Perinthalmanna can expect Cinepolise either in Hilite Mall or Secura Centre:banana:


The Secura Center Team has confirmed their location on Palakkad Road - Opposite to Manazhi Bus Station in Ponniakurssi. There is a large unused area in that area as shown in the map.

Marketcity Latest Google Images



Google has updated the city map and we can see the soon to be opened VMC in its full structure. Good the see that there is a pretty big atrium for the mall at the center. Means a lot of events going to take place under that umbrella.:banana:The chillers seems to be installed completely.

Also by adding Savitha area to the mall land, the project will be huge to look upon from the Aysha Jn and while coming from Jubilee Jn.

Some developments happening:

- The whole Padippura Ground has been fenced and seems to be a like a big project is set to be announced there. The area is huge (with a minimum of 10-15 Acres of Land or more) situated right at the hot spot in Calicut Road and Bypass Road. Let's wait for an official announcement.:banana:

- Hilite is said to have purchased land on Ponniakurssi Bypass for the Hilite Project. But the location is yet to be confirmed. News from reliable sources. This means that Ponniakurssi bypass is finally open to projects and a huge land bank is available there. Ideal for big mixed use projects like Hilite.

- The land at Calicut road near Jubilee Jn, where Hilite had proposed before has been confirmed to be used for a multipurpose convention hall, possibly from the Malabar builders. That means, Malabar is coming up with another project as announced before:banana:

Hilite News





Recently published interview with Hilite MD. The future plans seems to be big and he is talking about 2 mega projects with 2000 residential units and 1600 residential units. Not sure all these are planned in Kozhikode or outside Kozhikode. The Thrissur plans says only mall as of now. Not clear what will be the package for Thrissur, Perinthalmanna, Palakkad & Kannur as announced before.

From the reliable sources, it is said that they are planning a township in Perinthalmanna and they have acquired huge land in Ponniakurssi. Also it cud be a mall only project as he described as community center in the news. Let's wait for further details.

The final design of VMC





The final design of the VMC has been just released and the project will look like exactly like this by March 2019. Looks great and waiting for the grand opening :banana:

This will be an absolute stunner for the region !
Latest news from developer says that we can expect opening by September 2019:nuts:

Bad News coming in from Veekay. PVR has backed out from the project. The reason is heard to be some contractual issues. Anyways PVR is not coming up in VMC.

Not really. The pace has been affected for sure and the reason is unknown. But the project is on the go and works are happening at site. Although the developer says it will be opening in 3 months (for atleast for last 3 months though) the pace of work doesn’t seems to be looks like in a hurry which leads to inauguration. Apart from this the good news is that, all brands including PVR is still intact and getting ready. Lets give some time for this huge project. The latest status at site shows they are very well getting ready to open in 2019 itself.

Mall Aslam Brands in one picture. Both Mall Aslam and Vavas Mall are attracting decent footfalls being small sized malls without multiplex. Hypermarkets in both malls (Olive & Jam Joom) are attracting customers.

Malls Projects Updates

Hilite Mall



Hilite is looking for land still as per sources. They are looking for 4-6 Acres of land and planning tio have a minimum built up area of 7 Lakh Square Feets of Mall area. The picture shows the hoarding at Hilite Mall Calicut. They said they have project coming up in Chemmad also.

Eram Mall Project

The Project is Ongoing. The structure has attained the size of a mall. No information available other than works progressing.

Secura Centre

Seems like that have acquired land opposite Manazhi Bus Stand. Now concentrating on Kannur Project and soon may begin at Perinthalmanna. Adding to it, they have confirmed Cinepolise in Kannur Project.

Veekays Marketcity - Updates







The Pic Shows the latest picture as of Sep 2019. Seems to be all set, works can be seen progressing, finishing touches on going. The structure is very huge to watch it while coming from Bypass Junction. Hopefully they will announce the grand opening soon.

ERAM Motors - Mahindra Showroom - NOW OPEN







Eram Motors opened its one of the biggest facility in the state at Perinthalmanna as a part of ERAM Project. The Mahindra showroom part of the project is now open for business. The other half of the building which is said to be retail spaces are under construction. Altogether looks good :cheers:


Finally good news coming in from ERAM Experience Centre as they have announced their project in the social media and the call for leasing is on. Perinthalmanna is going to have another Mall along with Veekays Marketcity and both should be opening at the same time most probably. The ERAM group has a announced 3 Screen Multiplex with Food court and other retails. This will be an added bonanza for city.

Now who is next - Secura Center or Hilite Project ?? Awaiting :)

Kalyan Hypermarket - Ongoing. The size is huge - Calicut Road




Kalyan Hypermarket & Silks is under construction. The above pics shows its another branch with both Hypermarket & Silks. As per the information, we can expect the same concept in Perinthalmanna. The size of the project site implies that the overall size could be between 1 to 1.5 Lack Sq ft.:banana: Big Competition coming in Hypermarket Sector along with proposed Hypermarkets in VMC & EEC

Latest Google images of Mahindra Experience Center. Seems to be all set but of course hit badly by the Pandemic situations. Hopefully will get back to leasing and will open in 2021.

There are many reasons why the large scale commercial projects are getting delayed. Already the economy was suffering for last few years but some sectors were still showing boom especially the retail sector. Then came the fear of CAA & NRC from the central government which made the investors to think twice even to get proceed with under construction projects. And of course the pandemic has put sever jolt on the businesses and real estate. But the show must go on. People shall bounce back so as the business. Veekay's Market City as seen in the image, is about 80% complete. There has been delays from the investor for sure for the above reasons but there can't be a full stop. Veekays MC & other projects will get back on track but we have to be patient it seems.

The second image is an update from the Veekays MC page which says it will be hosting Westside for sure. Project is ON.
