At the heart of the regeneration plans for Millbay in Plymouth, will be a 179 Berth Marina. This regeneration will transform a derelict 20 acre harbourside area close to the city centre into an exciting new waterfront community.
Sutton Harbour Group have been successfully selected by Millbay's lead developer English Cities Fund (ECf) to build and operate a new marina at the heart of Plymouth's most significant regeneration scheme.
The 179-berth marina to be called King Point Marina, will bring Millbay’s inner basin back to life – transforming it into a busy waterfront setting and creating an impressive focal point for future phases of development on the surrounding docksides.
We expect to commence work on the marina in 2012 following Plymouth’s hosting in September 2011 of the high profile America’s Cup World Series international yacht racing, during which Millbay’s quays and harbour were used for the race village.
King Point Marina will include a contemporary two-storey facilities building with scope for a first-floor yacht club restaurant or marine related businesses with striking views over Plymouth Sound. The marina will cater for vessels from five to 25 meters in length.
