Plymouth College of Art has announced that it is to invest £4m in building a brand new, state of the art, craft and digital design workshop block that will place the College at the forefront of contemporary crafts training..... ....the workshop block will provide an exceptional learning environment not only for students studying Contemporary Crafts but for students throughout the College who work across specialisms, including students from the Saturday Arts Club and evening classes.....

The building will provide an additional 1650m² of specialist workshop space and will house the fantastically equipped ceramics, glass and digital design workshops that will include a range of facilities for rapid prototyping with computer aided design including 3D printing and laser cutting. With student experience at the heart of the project, space will also be allocated for student work stations, communal hubs and display areas.

The block will be built adjacent to the college in the city centre and construction is due to commence in the summer of 2012 for completion in time for the start of the 2013 academic year.

Really bad quality photos when you zoom in close, but I see they've progressed with the piling. A nice L-shape of piles bottom left, and...is that a larger concrete foundation bottom right? Just above the sign...?
